Most imitation jewellery in India sells in a handful of festival windows. A retailer who is short of stock in the ten days before a festival loses the season; one who ordered early sells through. Because our pieces are made to order, the calendar below matters more than anything else on this page.
The festival calendar and what sells
- Varalakshmi Vratham and Raksha Bandhan (July to August): Lakshmi pendants, temple necklaces and jhumkas, mostly in South India
- Onam (August to September): temple and palakka-style necklaces, jhumkas
- Navratri and Durga Puja (September to October): oxidised and German silver for garba, temple and antique sets for puja days
- Diwali and Dhanteras (October to November): every category, plus the corporate gifting orders on our corporate gifting page
- Wedding season (November to February): bridal sets, chokers and haarams. See bridal sets wholesale
- Pongal and Sankranti (January): temple jewellery and kemp. See kemp jewellery wholesale
- Akshaya Tritiya and Gudi Padwa (March to May): Lakshmi and temple designs, Maharashtrian styles
Order before the window, not in it
Production is about one month after you confirm. Add approval and transport, and a festival order should be placed six to eight weeks before the festival. Stock we already have can leave in about a week, but in festival months the popular designs go first.
Who places festival orders
- Retailers and wholesalers stocking up for the season
- Temple trusts and festival committees ordering jewellery for deity decoration or for volunteers
- Garba and Durga Puja organisers who give jewellery as prizes or gifts
- Community associations ordering one design for all members
Our minimum is 200 pcs per design (400 for earrings and pendants), and designs can be mixed in one order. Browse the wholesale catalogue or read our temple jewellery wholesale page.
