Eid-ul-Fitr, at the end of Ramadan, is a major shopping occasion for Muslim families across India. Chand Raat, the night before Eid, sees markets packed with shoppers buying bangles, jewellery and mehendi. Eid-ul-Adha brings a second festive peak. For wholesalers, Eid is an important season in cities with large Muslim populations.

Chand Raat
The night before Eid is one of the busiest shopping nights of the year in markets such as those in Hyderabad, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Bangles and earrings dominate. Retailers need deep stock of fast sellers.
After Eid
Eid is often followed by weddings in many Muslim communities, so bridal sets ordered alongside Eid stock can serve both, and festive stock can carry over to Eid-ul-Adha. Record what sold by design, colour and price point in the final week, while it is fresh: that record is the best guide to next year's order.
We manufacture chandbalis, pearl and polki-look sets at 200 pcs per design (400 for earrings and pendants). See Kundan and Polki wholesale and Muslim bridal jewellery.
Common mistakes
Not tracking the moving Eid date and ordering at the same time as last year, which can leave stock arriving too late. Another is under-stocking bangles, which sell in enormous numbers on Chand Raat.
A sample order
A Hyderabad or Lucknow distributor might order three chandbali designs, two jhumka designs, a pearl set, a polki-look set and several bangle designs, at MOQ quantities (200+ pcs per heavy design, 400+ per earring or pendant design).
Eid-ul-Adha
Eid-ul-Adha follows about two months after Eid-ul-Fitr. It is another festive occasion with jewellery demand, though often smaller than Eid-ul-Fitr.
How the date is set
Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramzan and begins with the sighting of the new moon of the month of Shawwal. Because the Islamic calendar is lunar, Eid moves about 11 days earlier each year on the Gregorian calendar, and the exact day is confirmed only when the moon is sighted. Plan stock for the expected date, with a few days of buffer on either side.
Selling tips
- Keep shops open late on Chand Raat.
- Offer pearl and polki-look sets for family gatherings.

Briefing your staff
Staff should be ready for late-evening crowds on Chand Raat, keep popular bangle sizes stocked at the counter, and suggest matching chandbalis with bangles.
Working with your manufacturer for this season
Confirm designs and quantities about three months before the expected Eid date, so production (about a month for made-to-order designs), approval and transport all fit before your shelves need the stock. Because Eid moves about 11 days earlier each year, check the date annually and do not copy last year's order timing. Keep a little extra stock of bangles and chandbalis for Chand Raat. Ask the factory to keep a record of the approved finish and stone colours, so any mid-season re-order matches the first batch.
