Chokers sit at the centre of many bridal and festive looks. They pair with long necklaces for layered bridal styles and stand alone for parties. For wholesalers, chokers are a reliable category across regions, but fit and finish decide whether they sell.
Choker styles
- Temple / attigai chokers: broad, kemp-heavy, Lakshmi or peacock motifs.
- Kundan chokers: glass stones and pearls, often with matching earrings and tikka.
- Polki-look chokers: soft uncut stone effect.
- AD chokers: sparkling CZ for receptions.
- Antique chokers: aged gold with pearls or beads.
- Oxidised chokers: tribal and coin designs for daily and festival wear.
Fit, sizing and comfort
Chokers sit on the neck, so size and adjustability decide comfort and returns. Adult neck sizes typically fall between about 12 and 15 inches, and most imitation chokers adjust in one of two ways:
- Dori (thread) closure: a braided cord that ties at the back, easy to adjust to any neck size and traditional in many Indian designs.
- Chain extender: a short chain with a hook, usually adding two to three inches of adjustment.
Confirm the length of the decorative front and the adjustment range when you order: a choker whose rigid front is too long for a small neck will not sit properly however it is adjusted. Heavy chokers press on the neck, so good design spreads weight across flexible links and keeps the inner surface smooth - check the back for sharp edges and stones or castings that could catch the skin. A range built on adjustable closures serves children's dance sets, petite adults and plus-size customers from the same designs.

Quality checks
Stone flushness, foil brightness on Kundan, colour match on kemp, secure pearl strings, strong back fastening and consistent finish across the set.
Sets vs singles
Chokers usually sell as sets with earrings. For layered bridal looks, offer chokers and long necklaces that coordinate in motif and finish. Coordinated designs raise average sale value.
We manufacture chokers in every style at 200 pcs per design (400 for earrings and pendants). See bridal jewellery manufacturer and Kundan wholesale.
Selling chokers at the counter
Chokers look flat in a tray and come alive on a neck form. Retailers who display their best chokers on busts, with the matching earrings beside them, sell more complete sets. For distributors, supplying a few display busts or photos of the choker being worn helps retailers move stock faster. Encourage retailers to show the choker with a long necklace too, because many brides buy the layered pair once they see it together.
Briefing a custom choker
Tell the factory the neck width you are designing for, the depth of the choker at its widest point, whether you want a dori or chain at the back, and the stone mix. A choker two centimetres too deep can sit uncomfortably on shorter necks, so ask for the CAD proof to be shown against a neck outline.
Chokers by occasion
| Occasion | Choker style |
|---|---|
| Bridal | Wide kemp attigai, heavy Kundan or polki chokers |
| Wedding guest | Mid-weight Kundan, antique or AD chokers |
| Party and reception | AD and rose-gold chokers |
| Daily and office | Slim beaded or light antique chokers |
Chokers pair naturally with long necklaces for layering, so stock them in finishes that match your haarams and rani haars.
